Duraid Qureshi is the CEO and co-founder of HUM Network, one of Pakistan’s largest listed media companies. He launched Hum TV in December 2004 and built it into the country’s leading entertainment network, going on to add HUM Masala, South Asia’s first 24-hour food channel; Style 360 (now Hum Sitarey); and HUM News, one of the country’s leading news channels. Earlier in his career he served as Chief Operating Officer of Al Abbas Sugar Mills and, from 2001, turned Moomal Productions into the largest production house in the country. A graduate of LUMS with an MBA, he is a recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s highest civilian honours, and was named best CEO in the media sector by the Karachi Stock Exchange for three consecutive years. Alongside his commercial work he champions Pakistani film and culture and supports free education for underprivileged children through the family foundation he co-founded.
