Tim Rowe is the founder and CEO of the Cambridge Innovation Center, which he grew from a single 2,700-square-foot location in Kendall Square, Cambridge in 1999 into a global company managing more than 1.5 million square feet of shared workspace, wet labs and event space. Companies including Google Android and HubSpot spent their early days at CIC. He is also the founder of the Venture Café Foundation, one of the world’s largest networks for entrepreneurs, and was founding chair of both LabCentral and MassRobotics and the first president of the Kendall Square Association, as well as a founder of the early-stage venture fund New Atlantic Ventures. A former MIT lecturer, he holds an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and a BA from Amherst College and speaks Spanish and Japanese fluently. In 2025 he received Japan’s Foreign Minister’s Award for his contributions to economic exchange between Japan and the United States.
